JIMMY MARTIN ENSEMBLE
A dream has come true to bring together a group of outstanding musicians capable of performing all styles of music – R&B, Soul, Blues, Gospel, Jazz, Pop, Reggae,Top 40,and Motown.Our group is comprised of Jimmy Martin (Saxophones, Flutes) Melody-(Vocals) Mike Smith (Keyboards) Rodney Gipson (Piano) Keith Bennett (Vocals & bass) Craig Harper (Drums,Percussions) Leo Crowe(vocals & Guitar). We compliment one another musically using our God-given talents as entertainers giving our best performances.
Whatever your musical taste, our group hits home in a positive way. We believe performing is giving a part of yourself to your audience vocally and emotionally. Our musical selections are rich and we provide a variety of music based on our belief that music is very diverse and something that we all have in common. We want people to listen to our rhythm and lyrics and get what they need to find peace or get through a rough day. There is always a message in our music. People are more than just an audience and source of income for us, so our goal is to make each performance enjoyable for our guests as well as for ourselves as a group.
We have been very fortunate to be the Chicago International House of Blues Band since its inception in Chicago in 1997. What makes this ensemble so special is it ability to play all styles of music : Jazz, R&B Soul, Motown, Blues, Reggie, Pop, Disco, and Gospel.
